Coltman VC

William Harold Coltman VC 1891 – 1974

William Coltman is arguably one of the bravest and heroic men to have served in our armed forces during  World War One. All of his awards for bravery and valour were gained without him firing a single shot.

During World War One, William served as a stretcher bearer with The North Staffordshire Regiment, who through amalgamation are now the 3rd Battalion the Mercian Regiment. Further information on William Coltman VC can be found here

William Coltman VC is buried in Burton, Staffordshire at St Mark’s Church, Winshill.
