William Harold Coltman VC 1891 – 1974
William Coltman is arguably one of the bravest and heroic men to have served in our armed forces during World War One. All of his awards for bravery and valour were gained without him firing a single shot.
During World War One, William served as a stretcher bearer with The North Staffordshire Regiment, who through amalgamation are now the 3rd Battalion the Mercian Regiment. Further information on William Coltman VC can be found here
William Coltman VC is buried in Burton, Staffordshire at St Mark’s Church, Winshill.
