School visits, talks and lectures available

Volunteers at the Victoria Cross Trust are available to visit schools, colleges, community and interest groups to support curriculum or interests in the Victoria Cross, military history and the work of the charity in restoring and maintaining memorials and graves.

Our team are asked regularly to provide talks to schools, professional bodies, community and special interest groups. This has included a recent programme of talks on the Victoria Cross at the Doncaster Galleries Library and Museum and even cruise ship companies seeking our performances for their itineraries. Schools across Doncaster along with History Society groups at Sprotbrough, Westwoodside, Doncaster and Doncaster Museum have already enjoyed the presentations and often they are oversubscribed! Probus, Freemason and Roundtable groups across South Yorkshire have engaged us and some asking for repeat visits. XP Doncaster has engaged us for the third year running ! Community coffee mornings at Cantley, The Mothers Union Sprotbrough, Older People's Group Thorne, Women's Institute, Country Woman's Association and many other community based groups have also received inputs from our volunteers such has been the interest.

We can tailor the content to meet specific requirements such as school curriculum and local history interests. We have expert speakers and a range of artefacts to bring the talk to life.
